About Moxie

Moxie is an artist working in and around the practice of painting, incorporating crafting techniques and personal objects to make work that moves into the sculptural and bodily. With a focus on the material and it’s ability to transform texture from physical to personal, they create corporeal pieces that reflect the process of gradual infliction.

Being a body in the world sucks really hard and also kinda rocks, through their work Moxie is processing the anger of having to experience that constant and varying pain, the ecstasy of bodily autonomy as well as the physical intricacy of it all, hoping to give those experiences a space for exploration and maybe healing.

Moxie graduated from Carnegie Mellon with honors where they received their BFA and worked as the Business manager for the student gallery the Frame. Moxie is currently working out of Philadelphia, building their practice and sustaining minor injuries on the daily.
